NMDOT awards additional funding for student internships
The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) has awarded Dr. David Jáuregui in the department of civil engineering a new professional services contract of $63,000 through the Bridge Section. The contract is a continuation of a previous award of $80,000 (for a total of $143,000) and will be used to provide summer internships for NMSU undergraduate and graduate students to work on bridge engineering projects. Over the past three summers, a total of nine undergraduate students have participated in the internship program. Work assignments have included bridge design and structural design services and support services for the construction and maintenance of bridges and structures.
