- The program leading to the Bachelor of Science in Engineering Physics is currently seeking accreditation.
Chemical Engineering (ChE)
Chemical Engineers design new power sources, keep our water clean, and help manufacture the thousands of chemicals which make modern life possible.
The following degrees are offered in Chemical Engineering at NMSU:
Civil Engineering (CE)
Civil Engineers design buildings, dams, bridges, roads, and other components of our social infrastructure: ensuring their safety and usability.
The following degrees are offered in Civil Engineering at NMSU:
Klipsch School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (EE)
Electrical and Computer Engineers design the hardware and software we use every day, from cell phones and I-Pods ® to satellites and lasers.
The following degrees are offered in Electrical Engineering at NMSU:
Engineering Physics
Engineering Physics merges the theoretical science of physics with the more practical discipline of engineering. Engineering Physicists specialize in either Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. The program is offered jointly by the College of Engineering and the Department of Physics (College of Arts & Sciences). It is the only engineering physics degree program in New Mexico.
Engineering Technology (ET)
Engineering Technologists build, repair and test the designs of engineers. Specializing in Civil, Electronic and Computer, Information and Communication, or Mechanical Technology, technologists bridge the gap between designer and user. Without technologists, the designs of engineers would just be scraps of paper.
The following degrees are offered in Engineering Technology at NMSU:
Industrial Engineering (IE)
Industrial Engineers design efficient processes, from figuring out how many check-out stands a grocery store needs to how paper flows through an office.
The following degrees are offered in Industriall Engineering at NMSU:
Mechanical Engineering (ME)
Aerospace Engineers design rockets for space exploration and airplanes to get us where we're going quickly and safely. Mechanical Engineers use principles such as heat, force, and the conservation of mass and energy to analyze static and dynamic physical systems, in contributing to the design of things such as automobiles, aircraft, and other vehicles, heating and cooling systems, household appliances, industrial equipment and machinery, weapons systems, etc.
The following degrees are offered in Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering at NMSU:
Surveying Engineering (SE)
Survey Engineers use laser and satellite technology to measure large formations, stake-out new construction sites, map the earth, and define property boundaries.
The following degrees are offered in Surveying Engineering at NMSU:
